Monarch is Hard at Work in the Canadian High Commission
"A job that used to make me 3 or 4 days to complete is now done in just over an hour because of Monarch. This has saved an enormous amount of manpower and resources for us already – and I no longer get headaches at the end of each month!"
The Canadian High Commission in London needs to manage and process a great deal of information and data and have it available to their staff very quickly in case of emergencies. They also need to have a firm grasp of their internal data and financial management due to the strict requirements laid down by the Canadian Government for all their foreign offices.
This is one of the major problems facing David Bryant, Deputy Finance Manager at the High Commission in London. It is his duty to prepare all the financial reports for the London commission to be submitted to central government in Canada.
All the Canadian Commissions abroad have to use the same ERP system, which is effective at its job but is very poor in terms of legibility and presentation of reports. This meant that Bryant used to spend 3-4 days each month tweaking the presentations to make them as clear as possible for submission through a variety of other software. Now, he has installed Monarch, which interrogates the data in the ERP system and presents them in a format he pre-defined. Bryant commented, "A job that used to take me 3 or 4 days to complete is now done in just over an hour because of Monarch. This has saved an enormous amount of manpower and resources for us already – and I no longer get headaches at the end of each month!"
